San Francisco, Calif. – The summits around Lake Tahoe have turned to white and with more than a foot of new snow at most resorts the anticipation for the winter season is contagious! In less than 30 days the renowned SnowBomb Ski and Snowboard Festivals in San Francisco and Silicon Valley will once again bring all the excitement of winter to ski and snowboard fans from around Northern California.
“This year we’ve targeted our focus on Value and Entertainment,” says event founder Jim McAlpine. “By making our events not only exciting and ground-breaking, but also affordable we’re able to offer skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities an amazing day of winter in the Bay Area.”
This year both the San Francisco and Silicon Valley Ski and Snowboard Festivals will feature an array of new entertainment aspects geared toward family fun for all ages.
LIVE BMX/SKATE EXHIBITION -
Starting off each day will be a live BMX/Skateboard halfpipe and street course demonstration inside each festival just a few feet away from more than 25 world-class resorts and over 100 of the industries top brands such as Atomic, Orage and The North Face. Outside each festival fans will see even more action on the mini-ramp exhibition with local Tahoe riders presented by Sierra-at-Tahoe.
WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT -
In a first for the SnowBomb Ski and Snowboard Festivals, High Fives Non-Profit Foundation President and Co-Found Roy Tuscany will attempt to break the world record for the most high fives in one day by a single individual. His goal – HIGH FIVE more than 10,000 people on Saturday, Nov. 5th. FILM PREMIERES –
SnowBomb has also ramped up the interactive entertainment each evening with the introduction of partnerships with award-winning filmmakers Teton Gravity Research and Matchstick Productions to host movie premiere nights at both the San Francisco and Silicon Valley Festivals. What’s more… the first 400 attendees to MSP’s “Attack of La Nina” on Nov. 5th and Nov. 12 will receive a free lift ticket to Sugar Bowl. And… the first 400 attendees to TGR’s “One for the Road” on Nov. 13 will receive a free lift ticket to Alpine Meadows.
WINE AND BEER TASTING –
For those looking for a bit more than the standard ski and snowboard expo SnowBomb has built on three years of success with Wine Tasting on Saturday and Beer Tasting on Sunday. This element of each SnowBomb Festival can be accessed for only $40 and includes one-on-one interaction with more than 150 wineries and breweries offering tastes of their newest flavors this year.
